Waiting for Godot

In English 12 AP this week we started to watch a play called Waiting for Godot and have finished one out of the two acts. The plot of the play so far has revolved around two men, Gogo and Didi, and their desperate attempts to pass the time while waiting for a man named Godot in order through meaningless conversation. They have conversations about the oddest things and usually banter while using very short sentences with the start of their conversations just as abrupt as their endings. Eventually while waiting they find a man named Pozzo and his consort Lucky who is practically treated as a slave. Before they are about to depart Lucky makes this grand speech which starts off seeming like it is very important but soon turns into a ramble that feels never-ending with no logical sense backing it up. There were repetitions in the speech such as the phrases "reasons unknown" and "time will tell" which may be eluding to the struggles that Didi and Gogo are experiencing in the play. At the moment I have a few ideas that revolve around "waiting" being connected to existentialist ideas but it still confuses me to some degree. Hopefully, after finishing the movie I will get a better understanding of the connection between, or if there even is a connection.
