Siddhartha and Star Wars

I have enjoyed Star Wars ever since I was to the point where it was weird to me if I had ever heard someone say that they have never even heard of Luke Skywalker. Nowadays because of the new trilogy and the amount of money, Disney has been putting into it Star Wars has become part of the mainstream. Going back to one of the most known characters of the franchise, Luke Skywalker, we can see how his journey through Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope is very similar to Siddhartha.

A new Hope and Siddhartha both start off in a similar way, with a call to action. Luke finds Obi-Wan Kenobi and is asked to help rescue Princess Leia from the Empire from a transmission sent from R2-D2 and Siddhartha is sent on a quest in order to find the path to true enlightenment. They also both have their own mentors, Obi-Wan being Luke's guide and the Shramas and Govinda for Siddhartha. Throughout their stories, they both face different challenges but acquire a similar reward. Luke Skywalker is met with trouble when he picks a fight at the cantina, has to escape stormtroopers to escape to Alderan, and help Princess Leia escape from the heavily fortified Death Star. Siddartha also has to face many challenges through while they are not as dramatic Luke and Siddhartha both find wisdom, experience, and a better version of their past self.

They both have to face different forms of adversity that give them their newfound enlightenment making them more similar than you may have thought.
